Here are some sites which I had perused that might be of interest to some of you out there.

Friends' Web Sites or Blogs

Warung Ikan Bakar
A duo of Ipoh boys/men (Ipoh is a town in Perak, which is a state in Malaysia), one a medical student, another a computer-scientist-to-be, with their take on everything outside their respective fields (and inside). Interesting read and witty.

A talented and budding young artist from Malaysia with her databases of Asian, especially Malaysian, art.

Danny Lim's collection of photographs
Witness a budding lens man putting his contacts and shutters to good use.

Michel's Journal
This is one person with a wide breadth (ok I am being superfluous) of interest. Has a number of interesting think to say. Argue with him at your risk.

U-Ming's Blog
Not always updated by still merit a good read, especially when it is updated.

Choen's Photopic

Mediabistro on Publishing
Contains lists of publishing information and the latest information on publishing in the US capital of publishing.

Communities of Libraries
Being bibliophile (of bit-o-phile, whatever) that I am, I could not resist checking out this site when I was given the url. It's a collection of libraries. Not all are online but you know where to go the next time you are at a certain place. Unfortunately, most are in the States. Malaysia should start its own comprehensive web directory. Let me know if that exists already.

Bookreviews Blog in Malaysia
Reviews done by book lovers as opposed to professionals who do it for money (occasionally, not always). How hard would it be to set up book clubs in this country (meaning Malaysia)?

NY Times Books Page
Professional reviews in New York Times.

Times Literary Supplement Online
Some writings of TLS could be found online, though you would have to buy the magazine to read the rest. A bit of a bummer if you are living 13 hours away by flight.

Marxist Internet Archive
A good way to find free online reading materials on philosophers. Some works in other European languages have been translated to English.

A Writer's Tools

Writers Directory on Yahoo
I've used this too and found many interesting journals and magazines, both online and offline.

Get Writing by the BBC

Business and Economics

Opposing Views on Multi Level Marketing
Ever since a friend approached me on this, I'd done some research on my own to see what the detractors of Multi-Level marketers have to say. I am sure you have already heard all about the sales pitches so let's look at the other side of the picture.

The Skeptical Mind

The Skeptic's Dictionary
Some things have to be taken with a tinge of salt, especially when they seemed beyond our comprehension, of if they sound a bit 'shilly'. But hey, we can also find alternative options to what is there already.

Skeptics Society and the Skeptics Magazine
The school of skepticism.

Skeptical Review
