Religious Thought & Exposition
An examination of religious scholarship and viewpoints from two sides.
Christianity
How does one argue from the point of scientific thought. Should one distil the bible through current scientific thinking of the day? Are we reading too much into the Bible? Is the Bible infallible? Are we arguing science and the Bible the way that we should? How does one interpret revealed doctrine against scientific facts? Is everything illusionary? Is it possible to view the question above objectively in a manner untainted by our biases? Each and everyone of these questions I have thought about, and perhaps some of you out there might have. I welcome submissions from the readers out there who have things that they would like to share and this page will provide a literature review of selected bibliographies. Original works will be posted in due time.
Diverse Interpretation of how believers and sceptics juxtapose Biblical textual criticism with scientific knowledge
- How Old is the Universe?
this particular piece tries to separate scientific understanding from Biblical facts
- Scientific Proof of the Bible
philosophical in its views and does not really tackle the issue head on with the Bible.
- Blind Faith in a Blind Watchmaker
while I do not dispute the fact that some evolutionists could be as dogmatic as some creationists, Mr Mathews committed the crime of misreading and misinterpretation when he misunderstood the paragraph he lifted from Dawkin's "The Blind Watchmaker" and tried to make it seem contradictory with Stephen Jay Gould's "Wonderful Life". It should be known that Gould has had many detractors among evolutionary biologists as well. The rest of the article seemed engaged in a kind of philosophical wrestling with the atheists.
